PRP today staged a dharna at Vijayawada for the improper drainage system in the town. Off late it has been observed that with small rains the total drainage system is blocked and water flooding into the streets and most of the sub urban area is under water. Since last one year due to incessant rains in the coastal Andhra the drainage at Vijayawada causing nightmare to the residents. Because of the rain water staying for long time, viral fevers such as dengue, malaria spreading across causing the ill health to major people.

Corporation is failing to clear the blocked drainages after the rains. PRP west constituency MLA Vellampalli Srinivasa Rao held a protest against the govt and municipal corporation of Vjayawada about the failure of the drainage systems in Bezawada. He demanded the government to give a special package to the basthi people in the town. Hundreds of PRP followers and leaders participated in the Protest.
