When this
question What next? Crops up, most of the times a person gets
worried. It could either be about studies, profession, family life
or business.
The question
brings along with it a whole lot of negative thoughts. It creates
fear, insecurity and even drives you to being indecisive. It is just
scary. Because of this, your thinking gets suspended. By all
standards, you determine that your 'next' should be better.
This better
will benefit scores of other people too who depend on your moves. So
the question What next? is burdensome. A successful person who wants
to be even successful goes through these tense moments.
As soon as
the question crops up, one is always in a hurry to get the answer.
In our anxiety to get the answer, we become numb.
In my
opinion, when confronted with this all-important question, what is
advisable is to allow silence to speak to you. In our hurry to find
an answer, most of the times we trample upon the answer which wants
to show on it's own. From silence emerge answers. Select the best
one. This is what I do. It helps me select the subject for my next
film, the director and everything that goes into the making of
another success.
I am
remembered of a wonderful story I read in a book titled Who moved
my cheese authored by Dr Spencer Johnson.
The story is
about two mice and two little people who discover the cheese they
had been feasting on has exhausted one day. Nevertheless, the two
mice venture out to find more cheese for themselves but the two
little people, shocked at the sudden turn of events, are enraged and
wrongly expect that the cheese would come back them.
When
confronted with What next?, instead of feeling cheated, plan with a
calm mind how you can go about achieving something. Don't speak your
mind always, allow you mind to speak to you.
